Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a certified Heavy Duty Mechanic working from our Fort McMurray area of operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies
- Communicate with site supervisor to coordinate maintenance priorities
- Maintain maintenance records
- Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Heavy Equipment Technician (Off Road) – Journeyman (Red Seal) Certified
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with CAT, John Deere and Hitachi equipment
- Minimum 5 years in Heavy Civil Earthworks Construction and/or Infrastructure
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Valid Class 5 operators license, but not limited to (candidate to provide current abstract)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule
- CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
