Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for an OTR Tire Technician to join our Fort McMurray operations.
Responsibilities:
- Service, replace, and repair OTR tires of all sizes on mining and construction equipment
- Safely operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including jacks, pumps, rad guns, and high-torque tools
- Demonstrate knowledge of tire construction and acceptable wear/repair limits
- Replace, repair, and balance light vehicle tires as required
- Follow proper procedures for eliminating stored energy before removing tires from rims, particularly split-rim configurations (3-piece and 5-piece)
- Use correct tooling and equipment to support both heavy and light vehicles during tire removal
- Adhere to all safe work practices in alignment with industry standards and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize risks
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an OTR Tire Technician
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license required
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps on a rotational schedule
- CSO Certification required
- H2S Alive and First Aid certifications are considered assets
- TIA Training is recommended but not required (training can be provided)
- Good physical condition and overall health to safely perform assigned duties
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
