Description: Thompson Builders is currently seeking a charismatic and experienced individual to join our team as a Site Foreman. Reporting to a Site Superintendent, the Site Foreman is involved in a wide range of construction activities which includes providing leadership in the areas of carpentry, sub-contract/workforce planning/coordination, supervising and promoting safety and cost control measures.

Responsibilities:

  • With direction from the Site Superintendent, the Site Foreman will organize the job site and crew to carry out the project plan
  • Assist with the coordination of sub-contractor and manpower movement throughout the project
  • Establish and communicate tasks to crew members to ensure they clearly understand their respective roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of corporate health and safety policies and procedures
  • Directly supervise all phases of the project and ensure quality control testing is completed and accurate
  • Attend site meetings when required
  • Perform work direction talks
  • Lead the work that needs to be completed in a safe and responsible way.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Commercial/Institutional/Civil Construction industry.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and technical documents.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certification
  • Preferable to have Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter certification
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures in the commercial/institutional construction industry
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various construction processes
