Description: Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for an Outdoor Power Equipment Technician working from our Fort McMurray operations centre. The technician must possess the necessary skills to repair, service and maintain small gasoline and diesel powered equipment such as generators, mowers, aerators, chain saws, steamers/pressure washers and various types of construction equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair company assets, maintain repair order documentation and assist other maintenance personnel when required
• Document repair operations and time tracking in accordance with company policies
• Perform technical inspections and document findings
• Inspect and test engines and motors to diagnose and isolate faults
• Adjust, repair or replace mechanical or electrical system parts using hand tools and equipment
• Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment
• Advise supervisor on work performed and condition of equipment
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor
• Estimate repair costs
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of Outdoor Power Equipment Technician experience
• A ticket in this certification is not required, but would be considered an asset
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Thorough knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures and comply with all safety standards
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required
• Strong communication skills to coordinate workflow with crew, foreman and superintendent
• Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in camps, if required, working a rotational schedule
• CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
